修讀應用科學副學士（實用中醫）課程期間，我得到了很多啟發，亦改變了很多。它使我由一個對中醫毫無認識的中學生，變成了今天立志要成為一個好醫師的大學生。當中最大功勞的當然是對我循循善誘的講師。學院的講師不但熱心教學，更關心學生，為建立良好的學習氣氛付出了不少心血。我本身的性格比較內向，所以在就讀中學時，我從來沒有在上課時發問過一條問題。但是當我接觸這個課程後，我終於體驗到學習的樂趣。而課後向講師亦成為了兩年學習的最寶貴時光。課程亦使我們有機會到不同行業見習及到國內中醫大學校訪，使我們體驗將來的學習環境，增加了和專業人士溝通的機會。 這兩年副學士的學習經驗幫助我們擴闊了不同領域的知識，亦為我們現在的學習打好基礎，使我們現在學習更順利，目標更清晰。 查看詳情

I was a Form 7 repeater in 2010 and 2011 and failed to obtain admission to a local university. I was disappointed with my poor HKALE results, but fortunately I was encouraged by my family to join the Higher Diploma programme in Engineering at HKU SPACE Community College. The programme not only provided me with essential engineering skills, but also established my confidence in learning again, which enabled me to successfully gain admission to the Bachelor of Engineering at The University of Hong Kong. 2011 was the turning point of my life. I did not get good results in the HKALE and felt very frustrated. After conversations with family and friends, I chose to study Higher Diploma programme in Engineering at HKU SPACE Community College. During the school life at HKU SPACE Community College, I was well equipped with both engineering theories and practical training which were very useful in pursuing studies at universities and my future career. Besides, the programme provided placement opportunities, which further enhanced the skills and techniques that I learned from lessons. 兩年的副學士生活，我在學院裡學到了各方面的知識，亦豐富了我的學問，為未來的升學做了充份的準備。或許很多人對副學士的印象比較負面，認為副學士學生只是公開試的失敗者，但在這兩年，港大附屬學院令我對副學士有重新的了解。這裡的副學士大部分都不比公開試的同學們遜色，他們都為了自己的大學夢而努力奮鬥。很多人會抱怨副學士升大學的學額太少，但我只能告訴你，不是數量的問題，而是你本人付出多少的問題。 港大附屬學院的學習模式與中學有很大的分別，自律對成功升學是很重要的，因為在這裡再沒有中學老師的督促，上課時間又較有彈性，所以時間管理非常重要。千萬不要以為課程簡單又輕鬆，但取得一個足夠晉升大學的分數可並不容易，因為你的競爭對手不少，分數競爭也非常激烈。最後希望大家都可以全力以赴考進大學。 查看詳情

I became a professional dental hygienist after this two-year Higher Diploma programme. This has provided me with clinical training sessions, problem-based learning and other generic skills. Problem-based learning (PBL) has given me a new learning experience and has encouraged me to analyse problems by information searching, self-reading and group discussions. The clinical sessions have provided invaluable opportunities for me to treat patients in the Prince Philip Dental Hospital. More importantly, apart from the clinical skills, I have learned how to communicate and to take care of my patients. I found these experiences were really applicable and helpful to my career. Besides this, the generic modules also provided me with opportunities to strengthen my language ability and presentation skills. Now I know more about the role and responsibilities of a registered dental hygienist in Hong Kong and I am proud to be one of them. 查看詳情
