Professional and Practical Training
The Higher Diploma in Public Relations and Corporate Communications programme aims to prepare students for further academic and career development in the fields of public relations, corporate communication, media, advertising, journalism, marketing and management. Students will learn how the media work, how to manage and package information for the media, how to analyze information, and how to identify audiences and readers from this highly professional and career-related programme.
Experience Sharing by Industry Practitioners
Professionals from the media sector and public relations practitioners are invited to share their work experience during guest lectures and students have the opportunity to attend various events organized by the Hong Kong Public Relations Professionals’ Association (PRPA) by joining their “Student Associate Membership”.
Placements and Internship Opportunities
Students are encouraged to apply for a number of placements and summer internships on a voluntary basis. These opportunities do not carry any credits but the knowledge gained and contacts made in the industry will prove invaluable for students to develop their future careers.

The release of HKCEE results really made me flabbergasted. I did and prepared so hard and well, but I was totally appalled by the result slip when I discovered that everything was not paid off. At that time, when the certificate read failures in most subjects, I was wondering whether I could get back to the threshold of that door of entering into university again, but HKU SPACE Community College offered a second chance to have saved me from distress and being too entrenched into those failures and self –rebuke. I was then made more confident. Yes of course, together with the supports from the college and knowledgeable teachers, I was coming back totally with full swing to head for university, and finally I was successful!
^ Higher Diploma in Corporate Communication and Management was re-titled as Higher Diploma in Public Relations and Corporate Communications.
“HDCCM is a very practical and interesting programme that cultivates my interests in different areas. I was delighted to have a chance to work at City Magazine as an intern with my classmate, which was truly an unforgettable and marvellous experience.
I would like to give big thanks to all the brilliant lecturers as they not only widened my horizons, but had also inspired me in every field of my life.”
