It is astonishing to see how I have transformed into a confident and competent individual after the first year of study in HKU SPACE CC. The AAELL programme equips students with knowledge based on various disciplines in language studies. The lecturers have provided us with ample support both academically and personally. Their thoughtful insights on study and life have constantly reminded me of the purpose of education. While my AAELL fellows and I are eager to articulate to university, it is a healthy fight among us.
We share our common goals and are allied to strive and thrive. This programme has indeed granted me a second chance of progressing to university and brought me one step closer to my aspiration as a prospective English teacher.

2019-20 Higher Diploma in Translation and Interpretation Year 1 student
It has been an amazing journey studying in HKU SPACE CC. The art of translation is far beyond mastering the usage of two languages; it is also essential to interchange skillfully between the two different language systems. The programme has armed me with not only hard knowledge, but also effective communication skills, which will be useful throughout my life. Apart from this, the lecturers have also offered a lot of help, including practical support for my studies and emotional support regarding my future career. My experience of the HD TRA programme this year has reinforced my determination to study further in the field of translation. Last but not least, this journey in HKU SPACE CC is what I will proudly share.

Stepping stone used to be what I said when people asked me about CC. That’s no longer my answer. Studying in CC changed my way of thinking and perception. There are so many courses which I found new and very interesting. CC not only serves as a platform for me to attain qualification but also a place to equip and to prepare for further studying. I’m thankful for what the lecturers have taught me and their hard work on helping me to meet my goals. I live a very fruitful life in CC, I have made many friends and been involved in all types of school activities. For me, the pace has been fast, and that definitely has been reminding me to avoid procrastination. I think you have to love learning to enjoy the journey. My tips are to always sit in the first row, take better notes, make friends with those who are diligent, and avoid temptations. Prospective schoolmates: Fasten your seatbelt and enjoy the journey.

After the release of my public examination results at my secondary school, I believed that they underestimated my full academic potential. It was clear to me that I was capable of more and deserved to achieve higher scores. Then I decided to study Associate of Economics at HKU SPACE CC. It not only allowed me to realize my potential, but also provided me with new and enriching experiences, whether it be through being a Student Ambassador for the college or taking additional courses external to the program I was studying. I am confident that the insights and successes I gained from my time at HKU SPACE CC will serve me well in my future academic pursuits.

时日如飞，回想起当初选择入读中文专业传意高级文凭时，内心十分忐忑不安。DSE的失利，面对新学校的紧张，他人质疑的眼光，都在两年的时间中转化成努力和汗水。课后一次次和老师的交谈，和志向相同的同学一起奋斗，都令这两年博尽无悔的旅程变得多彩。而现在入了大学，发觉高级文凭课程学到的知识是多么有用之后，又后悔当时没有更加努力……只期望现在能和当初一样不忘初心，继续向前。最后，也给入读了本课程的师弟师妹一些鼓励：不要因为暂时的得失而胆怯。
