2011 was the turning point of my life. I did not get good results in the HKALE and felt very frustrated. After conversations with family and friends, I chose to study Higher Diploma programme in Engineering at HKU SPACE Community College. During the school life at HKU SPACE Community College, I was well equipped with both engineering theories and practical training which were very useful in pursuing studies at universities and my future career. Besides, the programme provided placement opportunities, which further enhanced the skills and techniques that I learned from lessons. In 2012, I was successfully admitted to the Bachelor of Engineering at The University of Hong Kong. Thank you so much!

I have always wanted to see myself in the professional realm of data science. With the increasing sources of data and higher value of data generation, data science has become dominant field with undoubtable merits in every areas whether it be business, medicine, astronomy etc. Pursuing diploma in data science from HKU SPACE Community College was the most important decision for me as I equipped the foundational
knowledge to help me with my journey as an aspiring data scientist. It was indeed well designed for a new student like me and helped me learn up-to-speed right from the beginning. However, you need to show some passion and dedication inorder- to make the most of the course. The professors were always available to help me clear my doubts and queries whenever I needed them and I am grateful to each of them who helped me make my way to university. It was only a year of study, but I feel like I’ve gained a lot of insight about the so-called sexiest profession in 2021 because of it.
