I am a graduate of Higher Diploma in Geotechnical Engineering. The support from the faculty and staff has been instrumental in my academic and personal growth during the two-year-study at HKUSPACE Community College. Lecturers are full of passion and patience. They not only taught patiently on the lectures but also offered some engaging discussion and insightful feedback for us to deepen our understanding of academic theory and develop our critical thinking. I am particularly thankful for the extra time they devoted to our questions and the encouragement they provided during the challenging assignments. In addition to in-class teaching, field trips and site visits provided by the HDGE program helped me to realize the real work environment of Geotechnical engineering. This was an unforgettable experience of studying at HKU SPACE CC. I felt a huge relief studying on the KEC campus for two years. I studied with my friends and learned a lot of valuable knowledge from the lectures. Those experiences can allow me to have a good elementary base to handle the workload of my university life. I earned an Associate of Engineering in HKU SPACE CC. They can provide brilliant lecturers and help us to build up the fundamental concepts of future study. Thanks to my hard work and immense support from my lecturers, I have made unprecedented progress in my academic study. HKU SPACE CC AENG is a good way for students to fathom their interests. From my hands-on experience, signal and PCB are my interests. Electronic Engineering, therefore, is a corking choice for me. Two years ago, I faced disappointment with my DSE results, as I couldn’t meet the 3322 requirement for nursing programs. However, a new opportunity arose when HHPA offered me a chance to study advanced healthcare. This path has been incredibly rewarding, allowing me to deepen my understanding of health and medical sciences. The curriculum has been both challenging and enlightening, providing me with insights into various aspects of healthcare. Additionally, studying at HKU SPACE CC has been a transformative experience. The learning environment there closely resembles that of other universities, fostering a sense of community and collaboration. This supportive atmosphere has significantly boosted my self-discipline, encouraging me to pursue my goals with renewed confidence. Cheung Wai Ho 2022-2024 Associate of Engineering

Throughout my time at HKU SPACE CC, during the first semester, I was shy about asking questions and didn’t seek any help from the lecturer or classmates. So, I received a bad grade in the first semester; after that, I met some new friends in the second semester and formed a study group. And we will encourage each other to improve ourselves and ask questions. That leads to a closer relationship between us and our lecturers. We received immense support from our lecturers, and the experience gained by courses and projects was invaluable. Currently, I am pursuing my BEng in Electronic Engineering at HKUST. The knowledge that I gained in HKU SPACE CC is enough to support my study at HKUST, especially those project experiences that can provide me with more confidence in presentation and academic writing. My advice to future students is not to be lazy, not to be a free rider, and never to hesitate to seek help from their lecturers or classmates. With determination and perseverance, you can achieve your academic goals and beyond. Good luck to all future students.
