I got only 20 marks in HKDSE and only level 3 for the English subject; therefore, I chose to study in HKU SPACE CC in pursuit of a chance to enter university. The learning style was totally different from the secondary school. Time management was very important, and early preparation for Non-JUPAS application, such as taking the IELTS and GCE examination, is also crucial. Besides, lecturers and counsellors helped me a lot, for example, they organised mock interview for us. They were also willing to help me overcome my academic difficulties and share me experiences about applying for bachelor's degree programmes in universities.

Sometimes, we cannot control every outcome and get what we desire. However, once you maintain a positive attitude, anything is possible. Studying in HKU SPACE CC was a precious experience. I met good teachers and friends who helped and inspired me. The courses offered by HKU SPACE CC not only enhanced my knowledge, but also helped me develop some soft skills, like time-management and communication. Although there were a lot of obstacles to break through, I had a fruitful experience at the college.

I felt an overwhelming sense of relief and joy when I finally graduated with a qualification of High Diploma in Dental Hygiene.
Before I joined this programme, I’d always been inspired to become a healthcare professional. It was not until I realised dental health plays an important and indispensable role in our well-being did I decide to apply for this programme.
In the grand scheme of things, this programme not only provided useful textbook knowledge about dental health, but also hands-on clinical sessions that took a holistic approach to treating patients.
The teachers of the programme were extremely kind, helpful and knowledgeable. They brought a lot of experience and skills to the table. I was pleased and grateful for their help and support. I was also glad that I met some friendly peers who were truly my staunch friends and allies during my study journey.
Now that I’m a qualified dental hygienist, my experience and skills have been honed to the next level. The skill set I acquired over the past few years allows my patients to get the most out of my dental service.

As a former Higher Diploma (Marketing) student, HKU SPACE Community College not only provided me with solid foundations in marketing, but also equipped me with valuable experience, such as ways to collaborate effectively with groupmates and deliver professional presentations, which enhanced my practical skills. My initial intention was to have a better start for my career as my unsatisfactory DSE results hindered and discouraged me from pursuing studies at local UGC universities. However, the lecturers gave me the support and knowledge that stimulated my learning interest and motivated me to acquire further knowledge. In the end, I was overwhelmed when I received offers from universities. Consequently, I realized that no matter how disappointed you were with your public exam, you could still have a fresh and equal start at CC to get into universities.
