After receiving my HKDSE results, I felt disappointed and I was confused about my future. However, by having the valuable chance to complete the Higher Diploma in Engineering programme at HKU SPACE Community College, I was able to develop practical skills and knowledge through lectures, lab sessions and site visits. With lecturers’ patience and guidance, together with the advanced engineering equipment, I became a well equipped and knowledgeable engineering student. I am so delighted for being a graduate of Higher Diploma of Dental Hygiene programme. The two years training from this programme supports me to handle and solve many big task of my job already, such as how to communicate with different patients. At the beginning of the programme, the clinical training session is very difficult for me, because I need to properly deliver oral health knowledge and treatment to my patients who suffer from periodontal disease. After two years training, I truly believe that the clinical training session helped me to build a good foundation of how to manage patients and treat periodontal disease. For the problem based learning (PBL) module, this is very new and interesting for me. All of us need to solve problems by ourselves and have sharing and presentation during PBL class. I believe that I have increased my originality and curiosity in the PBL class. The generic skills courses are also important that the diverse courses improve my language and communication skill. During the time I was studying in the programme, I met many good tutors who relieved an enjoyable and useful learning experience. 在物流及運輸高級文憑修讀了一年，經過一番努力，我順利升讀香港大學學士學位課程。在此要感謝高級文憑中的每位導師，他們不但分享在物流界中豐富的經驗，亦為我的升學及就業給予很多寶貴的意見和協助。雖然在香港大學附屬學院的學習只有短短一年，但期間所獲得的知識和經驗，絕對有助我確立未來的職業路向。 在大學暑期的時候，我到了香港國際貨櫃碼頭 (HIT) 實習。畢業後，我亦加入了HIT的操作部管理見習生 (Operations Management Trainee)計劃。在為期兩年的培訓期間，我累積了不少珍貴的工作經驗，除了獲安排到操作部門每一個崗位實習，亦能參與一些操作計劃。2016年7月我將完成培訓，並會擔任操作管理的工作。 查看詳情

Through Architecture, I want to express myself in a more interesting way. Architecture has always been a self-motivated discipline that demands great determination. Thus, it is undoubtedly a lifelong challenge to learn Architecture. While I found myself disappointed with the JUPAS result, HKU SPACE CC offered me an opportunity to rediscover my journey. The Higher Diploma in Architectural Studies is a well-organized programme that provides all-round training for its students. It encourages the balance between 3-D designs and design resolutions, the exploration in historic and cultural contexts, as well as applications in the local practical field. In addition, witnessing is always one of the best ways to understand Architecture. A field trip will be arranged every year for students to interact with award-winning architects. In this way, students will also develop and sharpen their judgment while appreciating an array of masterpieces. You will surely learn the attitude required to pursue a career in this competitive field by participating in the numerous job placements posted by the department every summer.  With a high level of autonomy, I was able to express my ideas through different media and in-depth research. Also, my work stayed consistent through cross-related modules in the programme. Taking full control over my projects, these two years of valuable self-learning experience taught me to be a disciplined learner. More importantly, the 2-year programme enriched my portfolio with a collection of projects, with a scale ranging from delicate installations, public pavilions, to large museums. Having equipped with a solid base in design, I was able to further pursue my study for BA (Hons) in Architecture at the Oxford Brookes University. Whether you would like to practise in the field or continue to study, this programme will certainly equip yourself with everything you need to achieve your goals. Trust your instincts and never let go of what you want to do. The Higher Diploma in Architectural Studies programme at HKU SPACE CC might be another option to understand your powers and limits.
