I got only 20 marks in HKDSE and only level 3 for the English subject; therefore, I chose to study in HKU SPACE CC in pursuit of a chance to enter university. The learning style was totally different from the secondary school. Time management was very important, and early preparation for Non-JUPAS application, such as taking the IELTS and GCE examination, is also crucial. Besides, lecturers and counsellors helped me a lot, for example, they organised mock interview for us. Jenny Wong 2022-2024 Higher Diploma in Dental Hygiene

As a recent graduate of the Dental Hygiene Programme, I am filled with gratitude for the incredible journey I have experienced. Before enrolling, I worked as a dental surgery assistant, where I encountered many patients suffering from periodontal disease. This exposure ignited my passion for oral health and solidified my desire to advance my career in this field. The programme provided an abundance of practical training opportunities, seamlessly integrating theory with hands-on experience. The comprehensive curriculum not only equipped me with the technical skills necessary to perform as a qualified dental hygienist but also emphasized the importance of patient education. I learned that my role extends beyond cleaning teeth; it involves motivating patients to maintain their oral health and prevent dental issues. One of the most remarkable aspects of this programme was the dedication of our tutors. Their enthusiasm for teaching was evident in every lecture and practical session. They generously shared their knowledge and experiences, making complex concepts accessible and engaging. Additionally, guest speakers, including experienced dentists, enriched our learning by providing insights into real-world practices and patient care. Ho Hau Chuen, Godwin Higher Diploma in Information Technology (Networking Stream, 2012-2014)

I could still remember the bad days when I received my unsatisfactory result in HKDSE. I was at a very low ebb during that period of time. However, I did not lose my interest in information technology. Instead, I made a big decision to study in the Higher Diploma in Information Technology at HKU SPACE Community College. The learning experience and the atmosphere on my first day at HKU SPACE CC were still in my mind. The lecturers were willing to share their working experiences with us and the relationship between lecturers and students was very close. Moreover, they encouraged students to raise questions and discuss the topics together. I was majored in networking stream. During these two years, I have learned switching and routing knowledge and practical skills. The networking stream covers the professional knowledge with the supplement of industrial practice, which has laid the excellent foundations for us to obtain industrial certification in the future. Now, I am a holder of CCNA and I am striving for CCNP in the coming year. Apart from the great learning atmosphere, the programme also provides us with manifold laboratories and equipment. Meanwhile, it gave me lots of international exposure and opportunities. For instance, I was selected to participate into the 9th Cisco Hong Kong-Macau Youth Networking Skills Competition on HKU SPACE behalf last year and was awarded with merit at the end. These valuable experiences and achievements equipped me to become a university student with clear aspirations and confidence. I believe everyone should still have chance to strive for the final success regardless what HKDSE result he obtained at the beginning. It only depends on how much effort you have made on it. 還記得當年放榜，收到高考成績單後，心情十分焦慮。在短時間內必須選擇自己的路：到底應該繼續進修，還是找份長工度過餘生？經過深思熟慮，最後選擇報讀港大附屬學院商業學高級文憑課程，除了可為工作做好準備，從不同課外活動及實習機會中找尋自己真正的興趣，亦再次測試自己到底有沒有能力考進大學。皇天不負有心人，得到講師的悉心教導和指示，同學之間的鼓勵和支持，最後有幸獲得兩間大學取錄，繼續修讀喜歡的科目。這兩年高級文憑生涯，讓我尋回自我，上了人生寶貴的一課。「態度勝過高度」，是一位講師常常提醒我們的，亦從此成為我人生的座右銘。在此再次感謝所有講師和同學。查看詳情
