Two years ago, I was just a boy who pursued his dream, some charity-related ones, and came to Hong Kong. I really enjoyed taking the course “Working with Older People”. It is an experiential-learning course. I could try to design activities for them under lecturer's instructions.

I got only 20 marks in HKDSE and only level 3 for the English subject; therefore, I chose to study in HKU SPACE CC in pursuit of a chance to enter university. The learning style was totally different from the secondary school. Time management was very important, and early preparation for Non-JUPAS application, such as taking the IELTS and GCE examination, is also crucial. Besides, lecturers and counsellors helped me a lot, for example, they organised mock interview for us. 在修讀高齡研究前，我認為自己對長者的認識是十分之足夠的。 但在上課之後，我才發現原來自己的已有知識只是大海中的一部分。因此，我在這個課程中獲益良多。 而且這個課程的老師們都十分之友善，不論遇上任何問題他們都會樂於回應， 我認為我能夠成為這科的學生，是我的榮幸， 我亦不曾後悔修讀這科。

Political studies helped me find a pathway to pass through "the valley of the shadow of death". I could explore the world of politics with systematic research methods, and develop an understanding of international relations. What is “Ageing Studies”? Many people may think that this is a subject to study about the past or ‘Old Fashion’ and should be very boring. But in fact, this is totally wrong. In this theme, we can learn about the future and how to get rid of outdated thinking toward older people. Because we all are in the process of ageing and it is inevitable to everyone. So, in ageing studies, students not only can have better understanding of older people, but also be able to have a better vision to their own following lifetime.
