Ho Man Yui, Ryan Bachelor of Business Administration (Honours) in International Shipping and Transport Logistics

If you never try, you will never know. Aviation is a fantastic industry. There are lots of opportunities, and if you take every chance, you will enrich your knowledge and widen your horizon. After studying the Aviation Studies programme at HKU SPACE Community College, I could learn different aspects of the industry, for example airport operations, aviation business, aircraft weight, and balance and dispatch, to name but a few. Those subjects provide a great chance for me to know more about this industry and get solid experience. Apart from knowledge, internship is a rare opportunity for students, and the College has provided several internships with different airlines. I still remember when the internship at Cathay Pacific was offered, I was hesitating for a while, because I was afraid that I was not competent for this job. However, my friends encouraged me to join this internship, and it was a good chance for me to affirm my capability. Although I worked for one year only, I felt care and warmth in this programme. Everyone, especially the staff and mentors, took care of us all the time. During the internship, I not only learned about knowledge, but also building relationships with different people and interacting with others. I did not believe I would have an opportunity to study in The University of Hong Kong when my HKDSE result was released. However, HKU SPACE Community College provided me a second chance to pursue my university goal, with a quality education delivered by its Engineering Programme Team. I would like to express my sincere gratitude to all lecturers who have taught me in the past year. They were not only teaching the knowledge from the textbooks, but also inspiring me to learn through lab sessions, training workshops and visits. Li Suet Wing, Zoe Offer received: HKU Bachelor of Social Sciences, Year 3

If there is one word that can precisely describe my two-year journey here, this must be "FRUITFUL". When I first entered this community college, I was in a state of self-denial due to the failure in public examination. Fortunately, HKU SPACE CC has provided a platform for me to self reflect and rethink my life goal. I feel thankful to have met many kind and helpful lecturers from social sciences domain. They helped me to go through a myriad of difficulties such as assignments and university interviews. It is also important to have mutual support from HKU SPACE CC friends in this fruitful journey. Besides, I have changed my own mindset and leant to think critically towards everything. I was acting like a robot at my secondary school years, such as just following everyone without my own critical judgment. Through studying sociology, I am equipped to think bigger. Not only focus on the individual but also to be aware of the outside world. Just because one never experiences it doesn't mean the outside world doesn't exist. 在HKU SPACE CC讀書對我來說，是一個轉捩點，故我十分珍惜這個機會。但當我愈緊張想爭取好成績時，考試狀態反而愈差，故及後學懂調整自己心態，才能有健康的身心靈應付挑戰。作個比喻，你愈抓緊手中的一把沙，沙子愈快從你手上流走；相反，你懂得放輕手，沙子才不會猛的流走。學懂這個道理有利你們日後走更遠的萬里路。還有，到你們畢業時，或許會覺得自己還有很多不足，如你能有這個覺悟，我反倒要恭喜你，因為你有好學不倦的精神，這是要成為醫者其中一個重要的態度。另外，在HKU SPACE CC讀書學到多少，就靠自己的主動性有多高。當遇到不明白時不用擔心，虛心問老師就好了，他們會非常耐心地為你們解說。問得愈多，意外收獲愈多。在此，我也想多謝老師們的教導和鼓勵。最後，以過來人的身份作分享，想跟各位同學說，在讀書的路上，孤單和不如意的感覺十常八九，不妨大力擁抱這些感覺，「苦」中作樂一下吧！願各位在開往未來大學之航道上，一帆風順。 View Details
