It has been an amazing journey studying at HKU SPACE CC. During my time here, I gained first-hand experiences of doing different experiments, such as plant tissue culture and mapping DNA using electrophoresis. These experiences not just strengthened my knowledge of biological sciences but made me a better candidate when applying for universities. When we were in year 2, we studied science courses offered at HKU together with the university students. It was a precious opportunity since we could directly learn from some of the best teachers in Hong Kong. Also, our social networks and horizons were broadened, which are beneficial to our future studies. Academic and mental support were provided by teachers at CC, and we received many heart-warming messages from our teachers to help us release our pressure. Studying an Associate Degree provided me with opportunities to enrich my business knowledge and make my dream come true. I became an all-rounded person by learning through presentations, group works, projects, and discussion. Not only have I gained essential business knowledge but I also developed better presentation skills. All these had helped me overcome the challenges in university interviews and examinations. Moreover, various talks and activities held by the College had widened my horizon. From university applications to career development, HKU SPACE CC provided numerous sources and consultations that helped me to plan my own development effectively and efficiently. You may feel lost and hopeless. However, you can find your companions - lecturers and schoolmates. They will support and encourage you to overcome all the challenges. Ng Wing To, Richard 2012-14 Associate of Arts (Languages and Humanities) in Japanese Studies

Studying at the Community College was originally an inconvenient experience, due to the long-lasting misunderstandings of the public. Yet, for me, the education provided by the AA Japanese Studies programme at HKU SPACE CC was as good as that by most, if not all undergraduate programmes. Japanese Studies programme at HKU SPACE CC provided me with not only intensive Japanese language training, which made me well-prepared for the one-year exchange programme at The University of Tokyo during my undergraduate studies, but also courses that helped me build up a strong theoretical foundation to deal with the rigorous academic courses at The Chinese University of Hong Kong. Although I have shifted my focus on Japanese Studies to Sinophone Studies and critical theories after entering the university, the classes I attended at HKU SPACE CC did enable me to ponder on my studies in one more dimension. I owe an arigato gozaimasu (thank you in Japanese) to my Japanese teachers, and all the instructors who enlightened me when I was still struggling with a university degree. Gavin Law Graduate of Higher Diploma in Library and Information Management in 2013-14

This programme provides fundamental modules that equip students with knowledge in information management (IM) and librarianship. Having completed this programme, I was able to broaden my knowledge in IM and develop confidence to face different challenges in real-life environment. On the other hand, lecturers’ support was a key to the success in my study as they provided much academic and career supports through sharing of their knowledge and experience, providing advices in career path selection and professional guidance through frequent face-to-face interactions and email exchanges. After graduation, I furthered my study in the UK and completed my first degree, BSc in Information and Communications, and was admitted to MSc in Library and Information management in HKU afterwards. I highly recommend this Higher Diploma programme to those who are interested in studying in this field and taking information professionals as their career since this programme not just equips students with adequate IM and librarianship knowledge in the future workplace, but also paves the way for further studies in different specialism in different countries. 查看詳情
