科学的应用范畴日趋广泛,当中生物科学、化学、地球与环境科学、物理及统计学均对改善我们的生活作出巨大贡献。社会需要具备科学知识、创造力、和逻辑思考力的人才去开拓更美好的未来。在这个后基因解码年代,医药科学、应用科学,包括生物科技的发展尤为突出。鉴於社会对理学人才需求 甚殷,本学院与香港大学理学院合办理学副学士课程,为学生提供系统的理学学科知识训练。

 

课程目标及特点

本课程旨在培育学生的独立思考能力,为学生们建立巩固的科学知识基础,为将来进入大学继续进修和投身社会作好准备。本课程涵盖六个主题:生物科学、化学、地球与环境科学、环境管理学、物理学、统计学。提供不同领域的学习经验;并著重逻辑思维训练,加强同学的分析能力,从而帮助他们掌握丰富的知识,建立广博的视野。

课程第一年属基础班,首年课程是为巩固和深化学生相关学科的基础。第二年的课程则与香港大学和其他大学四年制相关学系二年级课程相若。二年级的学生可因应个人兴趣选修上述其中一个主题,而本课程二年级的部分专门科目及实验课均由香港大学理学院负责统筹,学术水平广受本地和海外大学认可。学生同时可藉此体验大学的学习模式。

就业前景

除教授专业知识外,本课程也致力提高学生的逻辑思考和分析能力,为日后就业打好基础。本课程毕业生可投身相关的专业,如个人护理、化学工程、生物技术、食品安全检测、电子通讯、环境保护、屋宇设备工程、电子、纳米技术及材料科学等。此外,毕业生也可投身教育界、商业界、金融界或在政府部门工作。

 

特别入学资格

除一般入学资格外,申请人须於香港中学文凭考试生物、化学、物理或数学(延伸部份单元一/二)其中一科考获第二级或以上,或组合科学科第三级或以上,或具同等学历。
