In memory of Professor Wong Tak Ming

The College was sad to learn of the passing of Professor Wong Tak Ming, College Principal Emeritus, on February 22^nd 2026 at the age of 84.

Professor Wong was a distinguished Professor of Physiology at the University of Hong Kong and, following his retirement, joined the HKU SPACE in 2008 as Head of the College of Life Science and Technology. He was then appointed as the second Principal of the Community College from 2011 to 2014 where he led with distinction until his second retirement.

During his tenure at the Community College, Professor Wong was instrumental in establishing the Associate Degree programme in Nursing Studies, which has since gained significant recognition and become one of the College's flagship programmes.

The College is deeply grateful for Professor Wong's leadership and contribution. He will be sadly missed.
