两年的副学士生活，我在学院里学到了各方面的知识，亦丰富了我的学问，为未来的升学做了充份的准备。或许很多人对副学士的印象比较负面，认为副学士学生只是公开试的失败者，但在这两年，港大附属学院令我对副学士有重新的了解。这里的副学士大部分都不比公开试的同学们逊色，他们都为了自己的大学梦而努力奋斗。很多人会抱怨副学士升大学的学额太少，但我只能告诉你，不是数量的问题，而是你本人付出多少的问题。港大附属学院的学习模式与中学有很大的分别，自律对成功升学是很重要的，因为在这里再没有中学老师的督促，上课时间又较有弹性，所以时间管理非常重要。千万不要以为课程简单又轻松，但取得一个足够晋升大学的分数可并不容易，因为你的竞争对手不少，分数竞争也非常激烈。最后希望大家都可以全力以赴考进大学。查看详情

高考放榜当日接过成绩单，成绩比预期差，想了很久应该是选择重考或是读副学士。后来发现港大附属学院的副学士跟大学课程颇为相似，能衔接多间本地及海外大学学位，而且开放日当天，同学和讲师都非常用心解释课程的内容和出路。因此选读了这所学院。在这两年，课程对我将来编写电脑程式或继续升学都有很大帮助，亦增强了我的逻辑思维及批判能力。此外，学院讲师都很友善和有耐性，每次都很用心解答我们的问题，而且在升学问题上亦给予我们很多意见，提醒我们在大学面试有甚么需要准备；同学亦非常好学和友善，遇到难题时会主动发问，下课后一起温习，互相交流，既辛苦又很开心。查看详情

修读应用科学副学士（实用中医）课程期间，我得到了很多启发，亦改变了很多。它使我由一个对中医毫无认识的中学生，变成了今天立志要成为一个好医师的大学生。当中最大功劳的当然是对我循循善诱的讲师。学院的讲师不但热心教学，更关心学生，为建立良好的学习气氛付出了不少心血。我本身的性格比较内向，所以在就读中学时，我从来没有在上课时发问过一条问题。但是当我接触这个课程后，我终于体验到学习的乐趣。而课后向讲师亦成为了两年学习的最宝贵时光。课程亦使我们有机会到不同行业见习及到国内中医大学校访，使我们体验将来的学习环境，增加了和专业人士沟通的机会。这两年副学士的学习经验帮助我们扩阔了不同领域的知识，亦为我们现在的学习打好基础，使我们现在学习更顺利，目标更清晰。查看详情

还记得高考放榜那天，从老师手上接过成绩表后，我只感到徬徨、迷茫、绝望。当时，我根本不清楚除了大学以外，香港还有甚么升学途径，我只留在家中问问亲友的意见，及后上网搜寻「副学士」相关的学院和课程。又亲身听了各院校的讲座和学生分享，最后选择了港大附属学院，我最有兴趣的科目是应用科学副学士（生命科学）。至今，我无悔当初所作的抉择。副学士的生活确实辛苦，因为你要有很强的意志力才能不断坚持，继续走下去。当时我在未开学的时候已熟习修读课程的大纲，及计划未来一年的方向目标。每天除了温习，便是回家赶lab report或者project，又或要赶写personal statement，准备大学面试。虽然辛苦，但当中亦有收穫。副学士的校园生活不再有「班主任」式的提醒，但庆幸我选择了港大附属学院，内里有完善的升学辅导及自学中心，加上每位讲师都满腔热诚，还有counselor的辅助，当遇到难题时，他们都愿意助你，与你度难关，让我感受到在学习以外的人间温暖。事实上，港大附属学院提供的Non-JUPAS升学资讯，是各专上学院中最齐全的，只要自己主动去接触，这些资源都是属于你的。港大附属学院是一个很好的学习地方，让我学懂管理时间及自我，实为升读大学的不二之选。希望大家都能寻找一条属于你的副学士之路！加油！查看详情

I realized that I was not yet ready for university education after receiving my HKALE results. After seeking advice from my schoolmates and friends, I finally decided to apply to the AIT programme of HKU SPACE Community College as my first choice due to my interest in computing. The AIT programme has helped me to become an efficient learner, and allowed me to learn different skill sets in both IT and non-IT courses. I can seek help whenever I have difficulty in digesting the concepts or completing the tasks, because lecturers are always willing to respond to my questions. HKU SPACE CC has brought me invaluable experiences that the students who progressed directly from Form 7 to university education will not have. 港大附属学院拥有优良师资。讲师教学认真，还主动关心学生。培养学生各方面的兴趣，为升学或就业做好准备。理科的课程经过悉心编排，即使内容较深，但也为大学的学习打下稳固的根基。在二年级时，部份理科的科目，需要到香港大学与港大学生一起上课，这让我们体验到大学的上课模式，也能尝试大学的生活。最难能可贵的是我们能够使用香港大学的资源。我们可以到大学图书馆借阅参考书和阅读不少学术论文，对学习真有莫大裨益。除了学习外，学院更悉心安排不少升学就业讲座，即使学生成绩各异，我们也能够早日认清自己的路向。要成功考获大学取录，除了有优异成绩，面试技巧也相当重要；学院提供不少有关大学面试的资讯，包括歷届学兄学姊的面试心得和题目，这让我们在面试时更能得心应手。在港大附属学院读书，让你体会到「先苦后甜」的道理，虽然竞争大，但辛苦后得到的收获总是叫人再三回味的！查看详情

在HKDSE放榜时，我见到自己的成绩，徬徨之外，我也想不出有甚么形容词描述当时的心情，我知道自己升大学无望，又不知出路如何。听友人介绍副学士，而且以理学学系来说，港大附属学院最好，升学率亦高，既然无路可走，我只好硬着头皮地报读了。开始时自己跟不上学习进度，不少课程的难度比高中更难，幸好学院的讲师抽空指导我，而且还很有耐性地解释每个重点，自己再每日温习，最后用了一年时间便升上自己理想的大学。虽然学院的课程比较难，但不无好处，除了补充在中学学不了的知识外，当升上大学后，会更容易跟上大学的课程。纵使有人说读副学士是没出路，但回头望，我觉得港大附属学院是我人生的里程碑，为我升读大学前作最佳准备。查看详情

HKU SPACE CC is my alternative gateway to further my study after failing to enrol in undergraduate programmes offered by the UGC-funded universities. The study mode here gives me more freedom than the secondary schooling experience that I received before. There is no past examination paper or revision exercise, but there are different types of reference materials. We need to develop our own way of revising each course, and broaden our views and knowledge. I have been interested in programming since my secondary school, but I have not received any formal and regular training on computer programming. The AIT programme gives me a lot of chances to acquire practical programming skills, and also some useful advice on how to develop a good programme. It also strengthens my knowledge in the field of computer and information technology in order to improve my programme design. After failing the public examination, my ideal study path to study in local university was broken. HKU SPACE CC provided a chance for me to pursue high level education, and also helped me discover my interest in computing. At the beginning I was scared because I haven’t studied any computing subjects before. Later I found that it is not a problem as the programme structure is designed from easy to hard, even a beginner can follow as long as you want to learn. In addition, the lecturers are so friendly and helpful that they are always happy to answer our questions. I am extremely grateful to the lecturers who have helped me a lot in my study. Now I have been trained to be capable of developing application programmes and solving computer problems. Most importantly, there is a chance for me to study in university. 我曾经和你一样，在网上看到很多学生分享，那时我正在考虑报读港大附属学院的课程；时移世易，却换成了我的故事。我的故事就如其他师兄师姐：在学院的生活非常快乐自由，同学亲切，老师很有耐性，眼界大开...... 然而，这两年的学习令我明白到一件事：如果希望升读大学，副学士是一个不错的机会，只要愿意付出便会有收获。当然这句老生常谈说明的并不是全部，当中还有些要注意的地方：首个学期是十分重要的，如果GPA分数不好，跟后的学期就会容易放弃；所以开学时必先尽快收拾心情，适应大专生活。另外，培养个人兴趣很重要，有兴趣的话做任何事都会事半功倍；选择自己喜欢和有信心的科目，不要怕发问问题，跟讲师多交流令我有不少得著。最后，就是对自己增多一点信心；因为下一位获邀请分享经验的学生，很可能是你！查看详情

My time in HKU SPACE CC has been an enlightening experience on multiple levels. While the courses here have provided me with vast amounts of contextual knowledge, I also picked up valuable habits which I am certain will be beneficial as I continue my academic endeavours. The greatest challenge that I had to overcome was adjusting to a new education system. In high school, teachers often – figuratively speaking – held student’s hands along the process. Students were expected to attend for about seven hours of schooling every day from Monday through Friday. The scheme in CC is completely different, teaching hours vary greatly and so time management was essential. I quickly realized that I had to improve my old lifestyle in order to prevent work from accumulating. I learned the importance of discipline and scheduling so I could effectively balance my studies, hobbies and social life. Experiencing this change is necessary for any scholar that wishes to further their academic career into the university level, as it will be the same then. Another welcoming gesture was that many lecturers willingly shared their personal experiences with students to prepare us for adversities we might face in the future. Despite having very busy schedules, lecturers excelled both inside and outside the classrooms. The many discussions I had with all my lecturers often proved very fruitful. Lecturers always provided insight not only on the course they taught but also on how that specific course related to Engineering or simply life as a whole. The new environment also served as a great means for cultural enrichment. Having graduated from an international school, I did not have much insight about local students, but after these past few months I have made various friendships which have exposed me to another side of Hong Kong. I re-established the respect that I have for education as I became aware of the trials and tribulations that others have to face and was reminded that I have to cherish the opportunities I have. HKU SPACE CC taught me that education at the post-secondary level is not mandatory, it is a voluntary decision and thus it is a commitment in which the amount of success one can enjoy is directly proportional to the amount of effort one puts in. I got a HKU offer of 4-year Social Sciences programme. In fact,I didn't think that I would get this offer before interview. I just consider that if I apply this programme, I have 50% to get the offer; if I don't apply this programme, I have 0% to get the offer. After the interview, I felt satisfied with my performance. But I i didn't think about it anymore. "I do the best, God do the rest!" To me, I believe if something belong to me, they will belong to me, and vice versa. Stepping stone used to be what I said when people asked me about CC. That’s no longer my answer. Studying in CC changed my way of thinking and perception. There are so many courses which I found new and very interesting. CC not only serves as a platform for me to attain qualification but also a place to equip and to prepare for further studying. I’m thankful for what the lecturers have taught me and their hard work on helping me to meet my goals. I live a very fruitful life in CC, I have made many friends and been involved in all types of school activities. For me, the pace has been fast, and that definitely has been reminding me to avoid procrastination. I think you have to love learning to enjoy the journey. My tips are to always sit in the first row, take better notes, make friends with those who are diligent, and avoid temptations. Not only academic knowledge, lecturers are always enthusiastic to help us about our careers. 相信大部分港大附属学院的同学都有一个共同目标：升读大学。作为本校的毕业生，我认为在这里的学习是绝对有助同学达成以上目标。不论同学打算向哪一个方向发展，学院众多的学系或主修都能给予同学各种机会，而课程的设计以及讲师的水平令同学在短时间内融入与中学截然不同的学习环境。以我的主修人文学科 (Humanities) 为例，很多人也许觉得此科出路不多，这其实是一种误解。人文学科包含了文、史、哲三大学术范畴，对于有志在非联招报读这三个科系的同学自然是首选。但即使同学打算同时报读其他学科，如文化科系、创意媒体，甚至是商科，它也会带给你意想不到的「收穫」。因为数个核心科目在传授扎实的理论及知识的同时亦着重训练同学的逻辑及批判性思考。这种独立思考的能力令同学在非联招收生中最重要的面试环节有一定的优势。我在毕业时便获数个迥然不同的学系所录取，有中大的哲学系、浸大的宗哲系，也有属于商科的城大市场营销学系。我衷心感激港大附属学院在过去两年间对我的帮助，令我找到自己的出路。查看详情

由一个「失败」的理科人转化成一个「成功」的文科人，过程绝不容易；由不获任何大学取录到取得多间大学取录，苦尽甘来的感觉很奇妙。现在我就读香港中文大学歷史系三年级，有机会感受大学的文化，「上庄」、「DEM BEAT」、玩「院庆」等，这些改变都是有赖港大附属学院 (CC) 对我的帮助。当时文凭试惨遭滑铁卢，我十分迷惘，之后毅然报读CC的文学副学士课程。除文科的课程外，我还有机会学习其他范畴的知识，例如社会学、心理学、语言学等。此外，过程中身边有着一班「战友」，大家紧密合作解决难题，这些磨练、经验，都十分难能可贵，在大学甚至将来投身社会亦能运用。很肯定的说，在CC，付出和收穫是成正比的，非常感谢讲师对我的栽培，同学对我的帮助，使我更珍惜身边的一切，助我全面地成长。最后想向各位分享我的座右铭：「忘记背后，努力面前，向着标竿直跑」，希望大家一起努力向着目标迈进！查看详情

考完文凭试，初入港大附属学院时是抱着侥倖一试的心态，姑且在这里读一读自己有兴趣的科目试试吧。因为从中学起就喜欢中文、文学，见学院又有与中文相关的科目，就报读CC了。初入学时甚么都不懂，我也不是很会说话的人，在学校里就只有两、三个较为熟悉的朋友。尽管如此，中文组的老师都很乐意解答我关于升学或就业的问题，且有很好的建议给我。尤其二年级报non-JUPAS时需要推荐信，讲师都愿意替我撰写，真的十分感激！另外做报告及论文遇到难题，讲师也乐意抽时间教导我们，自己从中获得了不少知识。二年级上过的专业课为我之后上大学读中文系打好了基础，不论是现代抑或古典文学，都让我更了解这些学科，也更喜欢中文了，故此后来报大学也选择了中文系。如今在大学也偶尔会想起在学院与朋友一起奋斗的日子，那时虽颇有压力，但是有清晰目标，虽然辛苦，也是快乐的。查看详情

从第一届的文凭试到第二届的自修，觉得自己由一个地狱走出来，那时我觉得努力定有回报，然而世事往往不如人意，最后还是要踏上副学士的路途。两年前以为等待自己的是另一个地狱；后来才明白多得这趟地狱之旅，自己才能蜕变成今天的我。现在对这里仍有点不捨。在最初选择孤身上路，不与人交流，只靠自己，与别人合作稍有不合就把问题归咎他人，心高气傲，刚愎自用。这是我的写照，同时也是大部份人的写照。进入第二年选择了主科后，遇到一群志同道合的好朋友，一起奋斗。感觉不再是孤单一人，而是和朋友一起并肩作战。中文组的老师对我们也呵护备至，不但会回答习作及课堂上的问题，也会为我们升学提供帮助。不知不觉间已喜欢上这里的学习环境，对学院依依不捨。我在这里建议大家要以最适合自己的方式读书。不需强迫自己跟随别人的步伐，而是努力寻找一班志同道合的朋友，修读自己感兴趣的科目，一起上课，合作做project，这就是我在太空的成功之道。查看详情

I am very glad that I could get into the university in the first year. At first, I felt desperate when I failed to get into a degree programme with my HKDSE result. Besides my hard work, HKU SPACE CC helped me a lot to reach my success; for example, programmes offered by CC are similar to those in universities, which familiarises us with university-life and helps in answering the professors in interviews. Of course, working hard is the most important factor to have a better chance to further your study. Thus, you should thoughtfully consider when selecting which programme to study. I studied Computer Science at HKU SPACE Community College where I took different programming courses which are a major component in Engineering. No matter whether you have studied programming or not, it requires a lot of self-learning, especially in both individual and group projects. To make achievements in programming projects, I always consider about the user's view and further usage of the product. Our programming lectures provide basic theories and knowledge which have been extremely useful in applying to programming applications but sometimes challenging. Apart from academics, I am also an IVP of the IT Society, which have held software courses for students' need. It is fun to hold events for society members, like mass games for freshmen. Being an IVP has enhanced my leadership and communication skills, which are valuable in studies and working life. After the failure of the HKDSE, I have chosen HKU SPACE Community College to continue my studies. Fortunately, I have received two offers from two universities after two years of studying in College. There is no denying that hard working is the paramount key to surviving in this competitive environment. Everyone in this college is trying to score a high GPA to get into university, thus, I needed to be proactive and hard working. Actually, I was not a hard-working person when I was studying in secondary school and everything changed after attending classes in the college. Being one of the students that came from a secondary school using Chinese as a medium of instruction, I faced some learning difficulties initially because my English standard was relatively lower than others. However, the problem became my motivation for improving my English; for example, I tried hard to look up the meaning of all English terms before my lessons. When I still did not understand those scientific jargons, I could ask the lecturers for help. I believe that genius is one percent inspiration and 99 percent perspiration. Finally, my hard work paid off and I got eight offers from six UGC-funded local universities. I am so lucky to have chosen HKU SPACE Community College to pursue my Associate Degree in Business Administration. Two years ago, when I was planning to choose Business as my major, many people discouraged me by saying that it is extremely difficult to get an offer from universities because the competition is too keen. Luckily, I insisted on my decision and the results turned out to be quite the opposite. Now, I have four admission offers from top universities in Hong Kong and most importantly, I can see my growth in the business studies. There are three elements in HKU SPACE CC that contributed to my success today. First, the lecturers are always willing to help. For example, they organised several mock interviews to help us prepare for the university interviews. We could also consult them with our personal statements writing and career development. With the help of several lecturers in HKU SPACE CC, my team won the champion of the ACCA Business Competition 2015, which definitely broadened my horizon and added more value to my resume. Second, the Student Development & Counselling Services (SDCS) is extremely helpful; they regularly organise talks about interview skills and university admission, and besides I can also check out the records on university admission and interview questions from the past years. With all this useful information, I understand more about the university admission and interviews. Third, school exchange and internship were also wonderful experiences. Two years studied in HKU SPACE CC, from the start of college’s life to the acquisition of bachelor’s degree offer, what I took away is not only an offer in HKU or knowledge, but also the knowledge and attitude in being a nursing student and the relationship between my classmates, lecturers and tutors which help me to being a better me. Nursing study in CC is never an easy job, assessment, skill test, practicum, a large amount of information and knowledge need to remember. However, even the high workload or stress to us, it never diminish my enthusiasm in being a nurse and continue my study. It may due to the support and encourage giving by our lecturers. They taught us with their knowledge and experience patiently even we were doing wrongly, practiced the skills and went to the practicum with us. Before I had received the offer, I always felt scared and worried about my future. In that time, I always felt sad but my lecturers had given many support to me and tell me be confidence and never give up. They were finding a lot of methods to help us continue our studies in the university. Apart from the lecturers, in CC I found many comrades and friends that we are sustaining each other. We are fighting together towards the same target even now we study in HKU, the relationship between us is never a false appearance. We are relying on each other regardless happy or sad. Finally, we are studying HKU nursing degree together to continue our study. In CC, it is not just obtained an offer and then finished. We received the knowledge and skills from the class lecture and lab session. We learned what is empathy and other attitude of nurse through the practicum and lecturers. 2 years in AHS programme was not a cakewalk for me, but it was worth it. All the courses, practicum were very intense as it provided various opportunities to equip students to step in nursing field. Life is like a roller coaster; sometimes it’s not as smooth as we expect. Indeed, on the day of the release of my HKDSE results, it was a disaster for me. Despite the enormous amount of academic pressure I encountered during my study in CC, the sense of success and fulfilment was even greater when I realized that my GPA was better than expected. When I received my public examination result last year, I was upset and I didn't know what to do. Finally, my friends suggested me to study in HKU SPACE CC. After studied a year in CC, I got a lot of changes. Tertiary education is totally different from secondary education. After a whole day of lessons, I would go to the library to do revision on what I had learnt. If there was anything I wasn't sure about, I would check and read reference books. In this year, I started to enjoy learning rather than just learning for the public examinations. Admittedly, life in CC is extremely tough; we had to do a lot of assignments and even attend examination on a Sunday, but I still enjoyed it because there are nice lecturers who will help you if you seek help. After the release of the HKDSE results, I entered HKU SPACE CC with sorrow and despair. But I felt grateful as well because I was given a second bite at the cherry to get into university. Personally speaking, hard work is of the utmost importance to attain fruitful grades. In order to be considered by universities, it is crucial to have high GPA, especially in Semester 1. Studying at CC was a tough but rewarding experience. I had to adopt to the change of using English as the medium of instruction and also took many courses which were not directly related to Science. However, after studying these subjects, my interest to other academic fields were developed, including Philosophy, Psychology and Visual Art. It is a surprising result! I found my dream in Year 2 - Earth Science. This realisation had triggered my thirsty of knowledge about our Earth. I didn’t mind spending extra time outside class time to research and read books as well as asking lecturers questions, as I believe there is no shortcut to success, except hard work. In the DSE, my result was not satisfactory, so no offers were given in the JUPAS. I decided to choose HKU SPACE CC to further study because the chance of getting into the HKU is higher. Also, the science subjects are quite outstanding among all the community colleges. At first, I found it a bit stressed and hard since people around me were quite diligent and ambitious, and the syllabus was in a completely advanced level. HKU SPACE CC has a great reputation. It ranks one of the top institutions in Hong Kong and has a high university enrolment rate. We can find friends with the same goal and work hard to achieve it. 2 years of adventure at HKU SPACE CC was rewarding and terrific! One’s triumph only comes after acquiring a positive attitude, staying conscious and having good work ethic. Teachers at HKU SPACE CC are the lighthouse in the middle of the sea, they guide us, students, to those mentioned qualities with heart and passion; whenever we have questions on studies, we are given sincere help and useful methods to deal with them. On top of that, we are driven to achieve and explore our potentials. The Division of English offers a wide range of activities to students so they can learn and practice their English outside the classroom. The annual English Singing Contest and Speech Competition are just two examples. Students who are either afraid of public speaking or only need the stage to shine are given a chance to explore their potentials. It is not solely about the result, but the process of overcoming hurdles, and knowing what our strongest suits are. Ng Wing To, Richard 2012-14 Associate of Arts (Languages and Humanities) in Japanese Studies

Studying at the Community College was originally an inconvenient experience, due to the long-lasting misunderstandings of the public. Yet, for me, the education provided by the AA Japanese Studies programme at HKU SPACE CC was as good as that by most, if not all undergraduate programmes. Japanese Studies programme at HKU SPACE CC provided me with not only intensive Japanese language training, which made me well-prepared for the one-year exchange programme at The University of Tokyo during my undergraduate studies, but also courses that helped me build up a strong theoretical foundation to deal with the rigorous academic courses at The Chinese University of Hong Kong. Although I have shifted my focus on Japanese Studies to Sinophone Studies and critical theories after entering the university, the classes I attended at HKU SPACE CC did enable me to ponder on my studies in one more dimension. I owe an arigato gozaimasu (thank you in Japanese) to my Japanese teachers, and all the instructors who enlightened me when I was still struggling with a university degree. I remember I started studying at HKU SPACE Community College with a sense of inferiority, feeling incapable of advancing into a higher degree. However, with the dedicated and supportive teaching from professional teachers at the college, I realized I could become a better person if I endeavoured myself to be. Our lecturers didn't treat us as losers but as potential warriors ready to fight our way to a brighter future. All that I learnt from the college enabled me to enter a local university as a senior year student and graduated with First-class Honours. Now that I am studying a Postgraduate Diploma in Education to equip myself to become a teacher, which has always been my dream job, I do think that my two-year study at the college was an indispensable part of what made me a better and more mature person today. It has been one of the most fruitful experiences of my life. A detour path won't make us less competitive. HKU SPACE CC has enabled me to achieve my goal of entering university, because teachers in HKU SPACE CC were willing to help with my learning, and SDCS equipped me with important knowledge of non-JUPAS applications. When I came across any questions about lecture concepts, I asked my teachers after lessons or by email. Their willingness to address my queries helped me to understand the concepts more clearly and to digest such concepts more effectively. They also offered me clear guidance on developing my assignments in the right direction. Regarding further studies activities organised by SDCS, I benefited from an information session on ‘local study opportunities’, a sharing session on ‘successful university applications’, workshops on ‘choosing a university and writing a personal statement’ and ‘effective interview skills for university applications and mock interviews for university admission’, as well as an briefing session by an individual university/programme. I learnt important strategies for non-JUPAS applications and related interview skills after participating in these activities. Moreover, during individual counselling, counsellors solved my questions about university applications, and taught me stress management skills. 在DSE放榜后，我选择入读港大附属学院，主修中国语文。副学士感觉上比不上大学，所以当初我都不太愿意告诉身边的人我在读副学士。但成功入大学后，回想以前的时光才是最好的。副学士的同学，每位都有一颗奋斗的心，大家会一起用心地做好每份功课。而每位讲师都很用心去教导，并乐于帮助我们。大学的生活与副学士生活完全不同，大学的生活更忙碌，功课更多。但正因为经过两年副学士的磨练，会更容易衔接大学的生活。副学士为我带来不少珍贵的回忆，成绩并不代表一切，珍惜每一个时刻，留下珍贵的回忆才是最重要。查看详情

也许「太空」每个专业的学生比大学少而且也较参差，所以「太空」的讲师在课程编排上因应学生水平调整，大学则着重自主学习，比较害羞的学生如我，其实更适合在「太空」上课。「太空」和大学最大分别在于有种成长的感觉，有些人说「太空」只是一个浪费的过程，但上到大学后，会发现「太空」所学如写论文、小组研习等，经歷过「太空」之后基础会十分扎实，在大学课程上毫不吃力。所以，在「太空」学习也是成长过程，不必妄自菲薄，别将此当成人生最后的失败点。查看详情

I studied General English III, English for Academic and Professional Purposes I & II and English for Arts and Humanities. These are core English courses in studying the associate degree programme. I found these courses really helpful to my further studies in the Arts field. These courses have allowed me to establish a solid foundation in English, and gradually guided me to write academically. Apart from English proficiency, I gained the skill of critical thinking and data analysis, which has equipped me with the key to open the world of academic studies, so that I could understand the theories proposed by other scholars in their paper and then come up with my own ideas. I had many opportunities to execute what I learnt in class through presentations and projects. The class activities were something I enjoyed too, as I could exchange opinions with classmates. Because of the failure in HKDSE Chinese subject, I have chosen HKU SPACE Community College to continue my studies. I chose to study Engineering is because I had studied Physics and M2 during secondary school. In year 1 semester 1, I was learning the basic knowledge for the engineering subjects. In year 1 semester 2, I started thinking what I want to choose for the engineering subjects; electronic engineering, computer science or computer engineering. In year 2 semester 1, I started to apply the universities and attend interviews. I am now studying in HKU SPACE Community College, Associate of Engineering year 2. I believed that most student in this College wanted to get a high GPA in order to get into university. I think the key to success is that you need to be hard working, cooperating with others during group projects, as well as seeking help from the lecturers. Since group projects accounted a big percentage in many lectures, so you need to cooperate with others and find group mates carefully as some may be free-riders. The lecturers in the College, especially in the Engineering department, are willing to help and provide suitable guidance. I think the lecturers in the Engineering department is really different from my previous school teachers, they are always enthusiastic to help us, not only academic problems, but also about our careers. They will also bring you to visit different universities and find professors to give us talks, also finding students that had studied in the college to give us sharing. After two years of hard work in HKU SPACE Community College, I got three conditional offers from HKUST and CUHK. I am really delighted that I had made the right decision at the very beginning which is continuing my studies in this College. If you want to continue your studies but your marks is not enough to get into the universities, I would suggest you to apply associate degree programmes in HKU SPACE Community College. 查看详情

In semester one, I felt puzzled and frustrated because I was not familiar with the new subjects and the new environment at HKU SPACE Community College. Thus, my exam result in semester one was far away from what I expected. Luckily, I met a lot of friends and lecturers here. They motivated me to work hard and help me to get across the difficulties. I got an excellent result in the following two semesters under this positive learning atmosphere. Meanwhile, I received two interviews from CUHK and HKUST, followed by two conditional offers two weeks after the interview. Failing the DSE has turned out to be the best thing that happened to me in my life. If I hadn’t experienced this failure, I would have never known the importance of hard work and dedication. Studying DFS was amazing. It’s simply one of the best years in my life both academically and personally. It gave me not only a shelter from the rain and protection from my insecure future, but also boosted my confidence to take challenges again and again. Studying in college can be stressful and miserable. I am glad that I asked myself 3 questions during the past two years. The first question was “What are you going to focus on?” After being defeated in the public examinations, most students chose to focus on the fact that they were not good at studying. That was why they often felt frustrated. Instead, I looked at it from a completely different perspective. I thought of the experience as a way to grow and learn, which let me stay positive and motivated. The next question was “What meanings do you ascribe to things?”, the defeat in public examination meant nothing but a time for me to change. Certainly, there were problems in my learning strategies and I had to improve them. Finally, “What are you going to do?”. I chose to put all my laser focus on studying. I had learned a lot in HKU SPACE CC. There were lab sessions for us to practise nursing skills based on what we had learned in the lectures. I was most impressed by the comprehensive assessment, measuring vital signs and wound dressing, etc. The lecturers always interacted and shared their experience with us. They always provided extra resources to me. The programme also provided students with practicum opportunity, which took place in community settings, nursing care homes and rehabilitation units. I could apply the skills and knowledge that I had learnt. Patients also interacted with me so that I could understand more about patients’ need and how to provide nursing care interventions. I also had the opportunities to observe treatments and nursing care interventions for the patients which was not able to learn in class. It enriched my learning experience as well. 查看详情

As a guy who has a high estimation from the peers and teacher in Secondary Second, I have never thought that one day my strength and ability can be used again when I suffer in the failure in DSE. 时光飞逝，两年过去，而我亦顺利从副学位毕业。回望两年，香港大学附属学院可谓给予我一次复活的机会，令我能继续在学术道路上追寻自己的梦想。大专教育跟中学「填鸭式」教育不同，拥有完全不一样的学习风格，着重对知识的理解和扩阔自己的视野，而不是一味只靠补习和盲目努力而成功的。此外，大专教育给予自己更大的自由度，能自由追求不同的知识，做自己喜欢的事，向自己所定下的目标发展，唯须注意时间管理和自我安排。另外，选择自己感兴趣的学科，能够结识一班志同道合的战友，互相交流，共同进退。再者，大专教育有更优良、更有教学热诚的讲师，着重同学是否学懂知识而不是分数和教学进度，为同学一视同仁地指点迷津，除授予知识外更传授「学习的方法」，亦会分享自己的经验，比起中学教育更能激发学生的学习动机。自己亦能在该制度下，发挥所长，展现自我，得到很多中学无法给予我的东西。我修读了电子工程学，该课程令我学习到各方面的专门知识，例如电脑架构、程式设计和电路知识等，软硬件的运用以及互相之关系，最后综合各方面的知识，制造出不同的实验作品，例如模型车、智能锁和手机应用程式等。因此，同时喜欢电脑软件和硬件的同学，绝对不要错过这个学科。另一方面，在通识教育中，学生能在文化、艺术、历史等不同范畴自由选择自己有兴趣的科目作全人发展，而不是专注一项知识。与高级文凭的实用向课程相比，副学士更著重学术教育，亦即外界所谓的「与大学头两年相似」，为大学课程打好基础，使我在未来入读大学时更得心应手。总括而言，中学和大专两者皆需要付出，才有收获，惟相比起中学「不知为何而忙」，自己更享受在大专中「为自己喜欢的事而忙」的模式。因此，自问饱受中学教育制度所摧残，不适合中学教育制度的同学，或许你能跟我一样，在大专教育下脱胎换骨，重新出发，但大前提是：「你还没有放弃。」所以不要停下来，向目标进发吧！查看详情

The two-year learning journey at HKU SPACE Community College (CC) helped me to get prepared for studying in the university. The skills that I learnt at CC are useful for my undergraduate studies and even help me stand out from other students. For example, the diverse courses provided by the ABMS programme deepened my understanding of the biomedical science field and helped me complete advanced courses in occupational therapy more easily and effectively, comparing to a fresh secondary school graduate. Also, the helpful lecturers at CC (especially in this programme) not only provided me with a comprehensive explanation of the important concepts in biomedical sciences, but also made a lot of useful recommendations for my assignments and future planning. I no longer considered the DSE experience a failure once I stepped into CC, because I had ANOTHER CHANCE. It was not necessary to be on the same path as your classmates. Life would be a lot easier if you have made the right choice after DSE. In fact, studying at CC was more relaxing than at the university - with like-minded friends, trust-worthy teachers and modern facilities around. Pursuing my Associate’s degree in Business Administration at HKU SPACE CC was a memorable and valuable experience. I had always been frustrated about which business course I was truly interested in before I applied for ABA. Fortunately, in my 1st year, I was able to build a strong foundation on the numerous business courses before choosing to undertake the Accounting theme in Year 2. In addition, HKU SPACE CC offered me different kinds of support I wanted, ranging from further study inquiries to maintaining my mental health. Some of the highlights of my 2-year education was the Student Development and Counseling services provided by the college. They arranged countless talks and activities relating to career development and university studies. Moreover, lecturers were also very helpful. The ANS programme has been a stepping stone for me to achieve higher and get closer to my destination - to be a university student. The experience at HKU SPACE CC was fruitful and rewarding. The programme comprises me different courses such as Nursing Foundation, Health Promotion, and Languages, which equipped me with nursing knowledge and skills. Besides, my communication and problem-solving skills were also enhanced through working on projects with my fellow classmates. Facing various kinds of challenges was unavoidable during the two years’ study. However, the lecturers were extremely caring and helpful. They gave me a helping hand such as offering mental support and professional suggestions when I was under stress and had obstacles in my studies. I was blessed to have completed my practicum during this hard time (Covid-19). It was a unique and golden learning opportunity for me to shadow the nurses in an Elderly Home when the epidemic was alleviated. It provided me a chance to put the theories that I learned in lessons into practice like nursing assessments, vital signs measurements, and insulin injections. I also learned more about the management and measures that were adopted during this period so as to prevent the outbreak of Covid-19 in the healthcare setting. Throughout my time at HKU SPACE CC, during the first semester, I was shy about asking questions and didn’t seek any help from the lecturer or classmates. So, I received a bad grade in the first semester; after that, I met some new friends in the second semester and formed a study group. And we will encourage each other to improve ourselves and ask questions. That leads to a closer relationship between us and our lecturers. We received immense support from our lecturers, and the experience gained by courses and projects was invaluable. Currently, I am pursuing my BEng in Electronic Engineering at HKUST. The knowledge that I gained in HKU SPACE CC is enough to support my study at HKUST, especially those project experiences that can provide me with more confidence in presentation and academic writing.
